MUMMY Workplan The workplan is separated into four phases. 1) Strategy and Conception Phase: In the initial phase of the project, facility management and service business processes are analysed and user requirements collected to set the general framework for all further activities. From here, appropriate use cases and potential business models can be derived and system requirements and a logical system architecture defined. Therefore, state-of-the-art reports on the subsequent R&D phase are also to be taken into account. 2) R&D Phase: The R&D phase investigates and develops the core technologies for mobile knowledge management and searches for feasible technical methods to implement in accordance with the requirements and use cases found in the first phase. Key areas of research are context sensitive knowledge management, mobile provision/access of and collaboration on content as e.g. still or animated vector graphics and knowledge interaction paradigms based on rich multimedia for unstructured knowledge as, for instance, mobile interactive video. Implementations in this phase already comply with previous results as system requirements and a logical system architecture and lead to first demonstrators. 3) Application Systems Development Phase: The developed technical approaches of the R&D phase are to be integrated into application prototypes within the thematic domains of technical service and facility management. These applications have also been defined in accordance with the results of the first phase, e.g. the user requirements. Thus, the more generic R&D solutions have to be adapted and integrated towards specific application solutions. 4) Application Systems Testing & Evaluation Phase: The prototyped applications will be tested as to usability aspects and together with trial partners in the destination domains. The appropriate type of testing and evaluation in the trial is dependent on the system maturity attained. Usability tests and the results of testing in the application domains will lead to the final evaluation of the project outcome.
